All the little scale bits like the carb intake and exhaust are balsa.

WOW!! Beautiful craftsmanship. JFB!!!

BTW - there are a few #6 lead shot buried in the nose and a prop peg in there - it balances out right where the plan says the CG should be. Think it will fly?

Very nicely done!

Poppy and David - thank you for the kind words. Chris

Very nicely build. But I think this is the early E-Type; the later G-type had round wing tips and a different more streamlined cowl. The nickname "Kanonenvogel" (gun bird) was used for the JU-87 G Stuka with heavy anti-tank guns under the wings; I have never heard it used for the BF-109 (but I don't know all and everything about the Luftwaffe). The very late E-types (i.e. E-7) and subsequent types (F, G, K) used center drop tanks or a single bomb under the fuselage.

FANTASTIC!!

Looks Great!

There is a lot of wood in there: the nose is sheeted, the wing tips are carved balsa, the scoop under the nose and the two underwing radiators are all soft balsa. Mr Wilson & frwyflyer - thanks for the words of encouragement!

I really love these 500 series kits, good size, great price and this one is really well done. Beautiful camo scheme.

I like that you put an accurately scale nose on it. The kit is represents a C or D model (as does the 400 series kit) and even then the nose is too bulbous.
