So here's my approx. 60 year old F3F-1 from the Wasp. #rd plane of the 5th Group of the 2nd fighter squadron. Bottom half of the cowl is green.

3rd plane, that is.

I love to fly the Grumman Barrels in FSX https://imgur.com/Vazb1LC

Wow Don that looks super. Cannot believe that it is 60! Bye the bye - any of your chaps watching James U-tube stuff? Some good footage there of his marathon Ercoupe trip east.

Thanks Bob. I had a few stashed in a box of plastic peanuts for years and dug them out a couple of years ago. What's the name of James's u-tube venture?

Don just go to You-tube and type in James Good - Ercoupe to Oshkosh. That should get you there - do you have a PPL?

I may have, but it's like "area rule" was a few months ago. In other words, What is it?

I wish I still had all my plastic models. I gave them to my nephews when I went into the USAF. They didn't survive. James' Ercoupe is pretty cool. I built the Comet model of this when I was a kid! Fun to see a real one fly!

Hey! Does anyone remember the solid balsa scale kits (from was it Keilcraft) back in the 1950's - I did a rather poor job on three (Hawker Hunter, North American Sabre and Supermarine Swift) as a 13-14 year old. I think that they were my intro' to Aero-model building.
