THere's a dimple in one of the plastic intake covers so I planned to use 1/32" wood.

David I had a 4 inch lake in my backyard from Saturday's rain. Probably about 2 1/2 inches came down throughout the day. Wettest October in Phoenix history. My yard is now becoming a mushroom farm.

The alliteration is strong in this one.

Yeah, I'm already seeing northern license plates:-)

Looking at this you can say, "Who needs plastic parts?" As a side note, it was 25 degrees up here and our rain was white. Count your blessings. :)

The first overall coat of filler will be sanded smooth today, providing it doesn't rain all day like yesterday.
David Duckett, Image # 4065314 Oct 18 08:31

The bottom needs some sanding!

Then a fat finger full of filler

So I'm making them out of scrap wood to fill the hole first.

This area, bothy top and bottom, are supposed to be covered with a molded plastic part. The molding of the plastic parts is fairly good but they all, except the red nose, are molded in clear plastic. Clear parts make no sense to me.

It's mine.

It's going together more like Speedee Built! Is the sheeting on the bottom of the wings yours or the kits? My F94 is a Strombecker kit from the 50's
David Duckett, Comment for image # 4064210 Oct 18 10:04
NO! The pieces fit and the plans are fairly clear and the wood is good. It's just that some areas could have been better engineered. There are several plastic pieces that will not be used so there will be some extra work to make those sections from wood.

is it more troublesome than an easy built?

You must build at Mach one David! This aircraft was my first 1/48th plastic kit in the lat 50's early 60's.

There are several "interesting" parts of this build. It's almost like they deliberately tried to be different.
Don C, Comment for image # 4064109 Oct 18 17:14
Interesting how they formed the intakes. Much different than the Panther. By "they" I mean Comet.
David Duckett, Image # 4064209 Oct 18 17:05

So far.....
David Duckett, Image # 4064109 Oct 18 17:05

Strange way to build a model. A sheet of pre cut clear plastic is provided to cover the front two sections. Not!

you should try the jetex out, dd.
