Neat trick rayl. Hope your recovery is going well. Glad to see you back and building again. |

Very excellent work Ray! I remember my 37 days of radiation in London in 2013, hope yours was effective - glad your back to your modeling! |

Having "survived" 42 days of radiation treatments, I'm hopefully back up to speed. Silver Monkote, which has been sanded with either 360 grit W&D or 800 grit W&D has been applied with the "grain" running in differnent directions to try to simulate dissimilar panels. Takes a little time to cut out all of the panels. |

Anders; Yes, I believe that are on the same page as far the bubbles go. If I screw it up, it's only a silly model airplane. |

Rayl, I used to use a lot of Solite over sealed balsa, and I think Monokote is the same from the one aircraft I did with it. Bubbles shouldn't be an issue, because you can just stick a pin in them, reapply heat, and they should lay perfectly flat. No pin hole visible. Not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but, FYI! |

Don; The cowl is strip planked w/ 3/32" balsa and primed with Glidden "Gripper" and the gills are 1/64" plywood. The hatch on top has had a coat of Gesso applied per DD. Unfortunately, I found out that applying Monokote over a sealed surface will lead to problems with bubbles under the Monokote. I will use a wallpaper "woodpecker" to install many small perforations all over to prevent the bubbles. The Cowl will be painted so I won't worry about that.
Anders; So I've been told, but I bought a roll of Monokote, so I'm going to try it. Likely the plane will expire long before the Monokote has a chance to let go :-) |

Paper and dope it. Way less work and it does not come apart at the edges. Plastic films tend to let go after a while |

Very nice. Is that white all cardstock? I'm looking at the cowl especially. |

All of the pieces are finally together. Used a canopy off of a Guillows T-bolt. Haven't decided on the scheme yet. One of the other RCr's wants me to put MonoKote on it. Never done that before. Hmmm. |

Perfect! Thanks Ray. Think I may have it. Made 2 with cardstock a couple of weeks ago. Started attaching them this morning. If the glue holds they'll get done this afternoon. I keep forgetting about this site. |
