| I did one build with a purple glue stick.....never again.
Prefer to use old fashioned dope, with wet covering method.
But to each their own, what ever works for them. |

| I still use Elmers 50/50 water, but when I help a beginner I show them the glue stick method. I have to agree that you should use a fresh stick for each build. |

| The glue stick method is the way to go. I always make sure I use a fresh stick so that it glides on easily and doesn't add unnecessary weight. By using a glue stick, it is also possible to remove tissue from the frame (for a repair) by pulling it off carefully. |

| My experience with stick glue (Elmers)and tissue has been more than satisfactory. I suggest caution in not excessively saturating the tissue. To spray I have a sample size pump spray (like from womens hair spray) and it lies down a very fine mist. |

Covered the wing with the supplied Guillow tissue. Applied it with a purple glue stick, then applied a mist of water. I'll see how it looks when I get home from work today, hopefully it's drying nice and tight. |

| jgood, All Guillows models are too heavy but with some work can fly. I just flew my Spitfire the other day and was able to get 20 second flights. If you choose to make a flying model you will have to do a couple of modifications. The first is the nose, you have to make a system where you can have a removable nose plug. You need to do this so you can add weight to the nose. Second replace the Guillows prop with a 6 inch prop. If you choose to fly your plane do not paint it. This adds a lot of weight. The best choice is Esaki tissue, but there are not a lot of choices when if comes to color. The next best is Domestic. You can buy that from Easybuilt models. They seem to have the most choice in colors. Domestic is a little heavier than Esaki, but still lighter than painting. Or you can make a static model, either way take pictures and have fun, that is what it is all about. |

| Anyone here recommend this Coverlite tissue covering? Worth trying? Or should I just order Esaki tissue? Also, is water enough to shrink Esaki / Guillows tissue (then seal with Krylon) or should I get some dope (Nitrate or Butrate? Thinner?)? Thanks! I've got to master this tissue covering! |

Another shot in the glorious day we had on Sunday! I was thinking about making this a flying model, but the frame seems so heavy... Might be a static display model. |
