I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Nice. The stitching is looking good also.

Water overnight. I guess P Rake, the plan producer, wanted the lamination for strength. This will keep Gumby sanding a tad tomorrow. Can you eyes see all of the stitching grommet holes?
JohnG., Comment for image # 3301102 Feb 15 15:04
Nicely done. What did you soak them in...and for how long???
John M Oshust, Image # 3301102 Feb 15 14:10

Well the Gumster is glad that this task is completed. The rudder is in the rough but the fin has been sanded and shaped. Gumby said that he should have both covered by the end of his work day tomorrow!

Gumby has been stiitching for most of the day. Something to occupy his hands while the balsa for the rudder soaks. Detail...must address the Vickers install with a gun acess port and interruptor gear mechanism.

Oh Boy...what little detail will be next???

My reference books have had photos of this tyre company’s name on a few British aeroplanes. Gumby decided to use there tyres on Ogre therefore the Palmer Cord Aero Tyre trademark was imprinted.

Laminating balsa for the fin, the rudder lumber is still soaking.

Amazing!

Gumby believes that I was slightly remiss yesterday when posting Vickers construction photos. At my little buddy’s request I am posting this photo, today. The fuselage mounted Vickers still reqires the interrupter “gear” linkage and an access port in the cockpit wall that enabled the pilot to cock the gun and provide the gun access to the ammunition belt.

Add an egg and bake in an oven at 350 degrees F. Vickers fabrication is a stroll in a park....Spandau guns a nightmare!

Does not look like much but progress non the less. Poly span applied to the remainder of the fuse. Gumby cannot keep is mind on task. All he can think of is the "Stupid Bowel"!

Neato... a bit of this, a bit of that and a little imagination and Presto.............

A bit of gunsmithing was in Gumby’s job description this day. For those interested here is a photo of the basic components that he used on the Vickers.
John M Oshust, Image # 3299030 Jan 15 16:56

Gumby has not fabricated a Vickers in quite a while.

The mg must be finished and mounted on Ogre.

I shall meet you half way...mindless quality;-)
Don C, Comment for image # 3297630 Jan 15 09:51
There is no way what this is "mindless". I can only hope to reach this quality.
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 3297629 Jan 15 15:07
Thank you kind sir. When the fuse is fullu covered, Ogre shall require a "Singer" to get all of the stitching completed. That is the great thing about winter, plenty of time for mindless activity:-)
