LASTWOODSMAN, Comment for image # 37929 | 05 Feb 17 19:30 | Scigs - those "Electric Rubber Band Winders" very cheap - what a great tip - thanks! Just stick them onto the prop ... |
scigs30, Comment for image # 37929 | 05 Feb 17 18:34 | I do not seal the framework. It is die cut, and it did need a little nose weight from clay. The peg is located at the last little top former. I would use a loop of 3/32. I am flying in a small area so I just use the supplied rubber band. Since I am not using a long piece of rubber, I just use the electric winders that come with the toy flying profile kits. No drag flap this time. WIth supplied rubber, 300 turns she is flying 20 sec, flies to the right. Glides great, also using supplied thrust bearing and prop combo. |

LASTWOODSMAN, Comment for image # 37929 | 05 Feb 17 18:23 | Is this laser cut or die stamped? Was it balanced when you built it "right out of the box? - or did you have to add weight? - where and how much? How much does it weigh? What is the hook to peg length and how many strands of 1/8" tan sport rubber did you use and how long were the strands? I assume you use a "winder" and a "Stooge" - how many winds, what is the average flight time, and which way does it circle under power and which way under no power? Where did you put the drag tabs and how big are they? |
