| Lastman and Flyboyz and fellow members; in answer to your questions, you wouldn't believe how much misinformation and confusion there is about the Flyer and the engine itself. Example: Time Life books devoted a whole publication on the history of the Wright Bros' and the Flyer, yet their drawings of riggings are inaccurate. The engine was equally heavily researched and I used mostly photographs (no drawings) for reference. I was lucky to come across several pictures of the engine from the top, sides and bottom. There's even a special website devoted to Wright Bros' and it too contained numerous errors, especially the computer graphics. Thank you guys. |

| AND - your Wright Flyer - gold chains! and sprockets and a super detailed small engine - How did you research that engine? From a plastic Hasegawa engine kit? - I like your color scheme of that engine build - it shows all of the components. Getting the hang of this wonderful site is tricky - but once you are in your hangar, your models are easy to find... Your next Boeing bipe build should be a DOOSEY! |

| You are Wright Sky about "The right Boys" being clever in there control system! It was Orville who had the thought about the rudder - they were having problems with adverse yaw which was resulting in what they referred to as "well digging" - their machine would side-slip away from the direction of the turn and let them down heavily. Great story theirs is - anyone interested should read Tom Crouch in "The Bishops Boys" I have just started David McCullough's book "The Wright Brothers" it has started very well too! |

| Very, very nice build. Looking forward to seeing what else you do. One thing I always read from other scratch builders: break down a part into its smallest components and then add them together. You did a very nice job on the engine with that method. |

| Sorry guys. This posting was added out of sequence to the engine build. It was only meant to show how the wing-warping rigging included bellcranks interconnected to the rudder. The Wrights were geniuses in figuring out to have the rudder shift in the direction of the turning bank of the warped wings. -Sky |

| I made a "slight" mistake on this post. The scoring of the plastic will allow me to bend the outside overhang downward to form a "face." Then there will be a separate piece of plastic cut to length & size to cover the top of the cylinders. This piece will be superglued along the ridge formed from bending the original flat piece downward. Sorry about the confusion. Sky |

| DonC, menu, ElbertC, BriandKilby, I sincerely thank eack & everyone of you for your compliments. Truly means a lot from those modelers who are artists in their own right & know what to look for with a critical eye. I posted a lot on the engine, knowing it would be one of the primary focal points of the model & in the hopes it would offer insights on "How to's" for those who wish to take up the challenge of building the Wright Flyer.
