Not a B-29, but I just can't seem to leave these multi-motot No-cals alone. Not quite finished here, motor sticks and landing gear not on for photo. |

I was expecting the brake squeal too, but they must be using a more modern pad material because they are silent. However, the prop blast still blows your hat off. This one shakes the ground. Just imagine what it was like on a Pacific island when several hundred of them were warming up for a mission. |

I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about getting on the C-118 that took me to Spain in 1960 after seeing engines being started on all the others that day at McGuire AFB. I saw the sight many more times and it was always impressive. |

Not a Guillow's B-29 but a Boeing B-29. Took this photo of Fifi yesterday. When the first engine started, with the typical cloud of oil smoke from a cold radial, someone behind me said, "I guess they didn't have to smog that!" |
