Probably the last plane that flew into besieged Berlin. On April 26th, 1945, Hanna Reitsch (a woman) flew a FI-156 Storch into Berlin and landed in the "Tiergarten", the Berlin Zoo. At this time, Berlin was completely encircled by soviet troops. The second crew member, General von Greim, was wounded by soviet troops that fired at the plane. Hanna Reitsch left Berlin a few days later in an Arado A-96 trainer. |

Thanks, I'll see what I can come up with. |

Steve: I don't remember but it looks as if I added 1/16" stringer stock to the wire and then a wider outer piece of balsa. I think all the other "braces" are just 1/16" strips. |

David, you start out here with a wire frame for the LG but later they are a lot thicker. Do you remember if you replaced the wire or covered it with something to get to the correct thickness? |

No wheels, no plastic or rubber. The "short" kit does have the wood material for a balsa cowling. No strip wood or spars for the wing. You need a few pieces for the leading and trailing edge. |

A "Short Kit" is usually just any "Shaped" parts, in this case the laser cut parts. Any stringers or sheeting, covering is not included. Some include a vac canopy (if needed) some not. |

what classifies a model as a short kit? |

You need to check in with this company. They are always working on something new, it is possible that they might even have a short kit for a Mosquito wing. The DR-1 which I purchased is a beautiful kit. Laser cut parts and excellent plans. A very nice kit at a very nice price. |

lukebozeck1 I looked at the dpcm site and have already ordered a short kit of the Storch. As I said I have the Guillows plans, getting the laser cut short kit will be a godsend. Thanks loads |

Sweet! I never knew that DCP had those short kits available. Thanks Lukebozek1. Phil |

One note, they don't have the decals, but that should not be a problem for you. |

Jerry they have a laser cut short kit at http://dpcmodels.homestead.com/ that is drop dead gorgeous. They don't have plans, but will send a pdf file to your e-mail address. I have this in my to do list and it is perfect. It is based on the 300 series guillows. |

As Jerry said, Dumas makes a kit with a 30" wingspan. |

I need plans for it! I have been looking everywhere for them. And i really want to make one for my dad, because when i was 3 years old he had a Fi 156 with 3 meters wingspan. And he traded it for a heli.. and i made sure he felt bad for it. So i want to give him one with something like a meter of wingspan. |
