BillParker, Comment for image # 18125 | 28 May 10 12:36 | From the looks of the card stock Steve gave me, they're radiators. (a scoop pointed backwards is almost always a radiator...in my experience) I'm going to use almost everything Steve gave me. I'll first blow it up, then laminate onto 1/32 balsa, make rivet holes, and stick em on the plane. Gonna look KEWL! |
FLYBOYZ, Comment for image # 18125 | 28 May 10 12:24 | Well you have air intake at the wing root. The air has to has a place to deploy from I would think.May be the p63 had tubo charge unit. They also made a p400 kingcobra later on |
SteveM, Comment for image # 18122 | 27 May 10 19:29 | These mystery parts started showing up on the P-400 which was a limited run of P-39s between the P-39C and P-39D (the Guillow's kit is a P-39D). Under the P-39D section an addition of armor around the oil coolers and radiator is noted. |
SteveM, Image # 18125 | 27 May 10 19:24 | Same P-63 but with some sort of panel deployed. I have no idea if these are the same as the J19 and J20 parts on the P-39 or not. |
SteveM, Image # 18124 | 27 May 10 19:23 | This is actually a P-63, note the smooth bottom. |
SteveM, Image # 18123 | 27 May 10 19:21 | This is a P-39Q. Again, they appear to be arranged as hood rather than fins. |
SteveM, Image # 18122 | 27 May 10 19:20 | The Guillow's plans, cardstock, and supplement. In the supplement photo they appear to be arranged as aft facing hoods rather than fins. |
