The kits from West Wings are top quality; excellent printwood, beautiful canopies and decals, and instructions that are a bit difficult to understand in some cases. They are engineered for flight so are built light. |

I've been looking at this one and the Hurricane to do Doug Bader's planes. How are the West Wing kits? |

This was a pretty cool video that can be found on YouTube. The host of a British TV show wanted to get kids interested in models, so he had a 1/72 Airfix kit produced in 1/1 scale (in fiberglas, I believe). He had a bunch of teenagers assemble and paint the kit. They got pretty excited (although not as excited as the host) as the project developed. |

We all know about art and the eye of the beholder. Aesthetically I find this version of the Spitfire far more pleasing to the eye and not modeled nearly so often. |

If you look closely, his shoulder patch says France :) |

I believe it belongs to France. It's called the "Cross of Lorraine" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_of_Lorraine

Lovely! Mk V and Mk XVIII. Quite a few changes! Details on SM845, which is now silver, after a fatal crash on Landing in 2010: http://www.globalaviationresource.com/v2/2013/12/11/news-spitfire-mkxviii-sm845-unveiled/ |
