Thank you Dave. Enjoyed this build. The Vega has a lot of history behind it. |

Thanks, always nice when it comes from you guys. Still working on paint, trying to line things up and even out. And yes very tricky.

Nice job on a tricky paint scheme! Your motor looks good as do the wing, cowling, and wheel spats. The Vega was an amazing airplane. |

Thanks Ed. I tried to follow photos of the original except for the small wording that highlighted Mr. Post's around the world records. |

Vega starting to look a little like Winnie Mae. |

Working on prop. Almost ready for some paint. Windshield cut from pattern fits nicely. Hard to see in this pic. |

Nice job on the infill of fuselage and cowl. When I was a younger feller I was collecting the Cox Miniatures and the Winnie Mae was a favorite. Hard to find them now. Mine are gone with the passage of time. I think I had the Winnie Mae, a P26, and a Curtiss Hawk P-6. |

Thanks Don. I failed to mention that the out of line dots on the front of the crank case were just for the heck of it since I need a 1/16th disc there for prop clearance. Looking at this pic I realize the wing could probably use a little more leading edge sanding . |

Mr. O is the master of engines. Looks like you are an excellent student.

Latest on Winnie Mae. Sanding and sealing cowl at the moment. I decided to try a radial engine ala John's how to. Wing is ready for covering. Need to work on tail section. |

I think as a very thin coat it would work with silkspan. It does dry quickly and it can be sanded between coats. It does make a great top coat as well.. |

Creosotewind - The main question I have is if it will dry quick enough to use it for covering with silkspan. I've used it on wood and like it, but I'm thinking it may work better for coating after the silkspan is on. |
