true - I should have written in the past tense - Penn Valley is gone out of business too and they seem to have had the last of the unsold inventory

Very nice, indeed. Unfortunately they are all out of production and they don't show up on EBay very often.:-(

these kits are large, fairly basic, and build into very nice models with a bit of effort..

This is the F-14 from Today's Hobbies that I built last year - the Phantom is in the background. A pair of fleet defenders from the last century

Sweet build Heywood. Back when, stationed in Pearl Harbor, there were a lot of "fighter Drags" transiting through Hickam AFB on their way to/from 'nam. They would hit their pattern break right over SubBase with their blown flaps and engines spooling up, it was a physical experience for sure. The only event louder was when a full squadron of KC-135,s took off at one minute intervals to support the fighter drags.

Thanks Brian - The Navy F4 is probably my favorite jet aircraft..it has all the power and ability you would ever want in a fleet defender / multi-role aircraft. Effective at virtually every task it was assigned. A Hall of Fame player for sure.

Great job on a classic a/c. The Phantom was my era in Nav Air. Those J79s would rattle your insides!
