Wow time passes so quickly. Rotunda was built in 07. I cannot believe I have been gluing my fingers together for that long a time!

Oh Yes. The landing gear retraction mechanism, which was chains/ sprockets and cranks were lifted right from the Leoning amphibian (IIRC) and used up to the F4F Wildcats. I read a article about when the F4F's launched off of the carrier, you would watch the Wildcat weave and wobble as the pilot cranked the gear up which I think was about 60 turns of the crank in the cockpit. There is no mistaking Grumman heritage in the lines of their A/C. Nice Model by the way!!

Can you remember where you found the plan? Looks like an interesting build.

The order of things. Remember "The Barrel?" She is about to leave the den and migrate to the cabin!

The only ammo I have used in it, as far as I can recall, was a box of 550 rounds (loose in the box...makes me nervous) of Federal copper plated LR HP. There might have been a 100 round box of CCI somewhere along the way, but I doubt it. I use Federal Premium (with Nosler Partition) for all of my big game hunting and the Kimber chews through American Eagle rounds with no trouble, so I thought Federal would be a good brand. Next time I get a chance to go plinking I'll have to try some fresh CCI and see how it goes. Thanks to everyone else for allowing us to indulge in an OT subject. I really do have a model plane around here somewhere.

Clean it and use top quality high vel ammo. Brick type ammo, mine and all of my friends jam also. CCI minimags etc. never a jam.

Oh! Don't get me wrong, I love the 10/22 it is a great plinker I just would like something with more OOmpf for self defense. With the way the world situation the way it is, I might need it. Steve, I'm sorry that yours is jamming. I've owned 3 or 4 of them, and never had any problems with it. I would ask Ruger about it, they might be able to help you. Maybe it's your ammo.
SteveM, Comment for image # 655512 Feb 08 15:35
I should send you my 10/22. After about 30 shots the power residue begins to build and the bolt/slide does not go back fully, resulting in the empty brass not being ejected all the way, causing a jam. I keep thinking it will "break in" but it never has.

SW...10/22 is a great plinker. I have one that is 40...maybe cleaned her twice.

Oh! Incidently, welcome to "Armory Aerodrome". LOL, just kidding, guys, I wish I had a bigger rifle than a Ruger 10/22. I'd feel a lot safer with at heavier caliber, what, with the way the world is today. John, you're a clown!

John, what is that white stuff on the ground? Is that snow? I haven't seen any in so long, I've forgotten what it looks like. That's quite a scope that you've got on that AK, very nice. I especially like your beard.
