This is tissue and it is indeed outstanding, as is all of Chris's work. Check any plane in scigs30's hanger for equally impressive work with construction and covering with tissue. I cover everything with wet silkspan. |

The covering on this is awesome! Very tight and clean. I have heard that silk span will almost always give this kind of result with less effort than tissue. Will it give me a really nice result like this with limited experience and technique? I am assuming this is tissue, but it looks outstanding. |

Yes, welcome back Chris! I was wondering what you were up to these days. For some reason your site appears to be blocked for me here at work, but I will check it out when I get home. |

Hello everyone, it's me again! Well, it's been over a year since I last posted here and I'm still making those card models. I now spend my time over at the Fiddlers Green and Paper Modellers forums, but occasionally take a peek here every now and again. I see that DD is as prolific and masterful as always! I just thought you might be interested to know that I've recently set up my own website as a showcase for all the models I've built to date, the address is http://chrissmodels.webs.com. I'm currently close to finishing a superbly designed 1/720 scale model of the original Star Trek USS Enterprise - build thread here http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/alternate-dimensions/3755-tos-uss-enterprise-ncc-1701-a.html |

I'll look forward to that then, David... |

Just thought I would let you know, Chris, a slightly bigger version will soon appear in the skies of Virtual Aerodrome. ;-) |

Good Luck! I've built 2 rubber powered DVIIIs and both required a fairly large amount of down thrust and right thrust, about 15 degress each. The DVIII is a naturally good flier, so, other than that, it should be easy to get it trimmed. |
David Duckett, Comment for image # 6433 | 08 Feb 08 09:46 |
Well, that certainly should insure smooth flying. |

I hope so John C! John O, I'm mot quite sure where I downloaded the plan from, but if you'd like a copy please let me know your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. James, this will be my first serious attempt at rubber powered flight, for which I think all the right boxes have been ticked: light weight - check, adjustable thrust button - check, decent prop - check. I hope to report back when I've been able to get her in the air, which will probably not be until the Spring though. Wish me luck! |

Will do John, this one's been well lubricated too! |

Very impressive CD. Nice subject too! |

Beautiful and a great weight for a 16" span model. It is guaranteed to be a good flier. |

CD...The more I observe this bird, the more I love it. Where did you obtain the plan? |
