It looks like the real deal but the 30 foot fingers sort of give it away. Nice work. |

I tried some tacky glue from walmart it held the aluminum to the wood. Then I did a stress test to se if the wood breaks of the glue jiont the glue joint pulled away from the aluminium took a little pressure but Iam going to run some other test to day.I want to try sanding the aluminium before glueing it to the wood. |

FLYBOYZ.. Thanks.. I've found using rubber cement like Weldwood Contact Cement works well to glue Aluminum to balsa (or anyting else).. |

Very nice. Are you using tooling aluminum? That is very malleable and able to be worked into various shapes. |

Very sharp. I've been planning the same thing, and I'm glad to see that it can work. |

Port wing cowling. Upper right view of outside mold (appropriate size shampoo bottle shoulder) was used to create outside of mold. Upper left shows the inner plastic tube and outer bottle mold. Resin was poured between the two.. The resin was left to harden and the two mold parts pulled apart leaving raw cowling shape that was sanded. AL foil applied and burnished resulting in bottom finished cowling. |
