I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

I was poking around my old photos and found this one. At the time this photo was taken I had no idea that over 1.5 years later I'd spend just over a year working for a company with an office in the upper floor of the building in the background. I may have to revive this plane considering how gently it flies and how little room I have to fly in these days.

Steve, you can take me off the list. My Corsair says she will not share a hanger with a Nip plane!

I'm going to give it a few days so that people have time to email me to ask for the kit. The idea of emailing is so that people would feel free to ask for it and not be intimidated by others asking for it, etc. Maybe I should have done the "pick a number between 1 and 100" thing. :-D

Steve, I'd be interested in it. If you haven't already given it away.

Your Corsair pilot would have to be pretty good to get the Zero before he shoots down Gumby in the I-16.

The Corsair needs a target!

John has his capable hands full for awhile.

Of course not, I was just bugging you about such a tiny plane.
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 793921 Apr 08 21:38
I guess that means no!
SteveM, Comment for image # 793921 Apr 08 21:33
I dunno John, this one is small, has directions, print wood, and plastic. ;-)

Steve...I will be willing to give her a go!

I got it in an eBay lot but don't care to build it. I'll even pay shipping in the lower 48. I'll ship outside the lower 48 if I am reimbursed postage costs. Please email me at and let me know if you are interested. I reserve the right to send it to anyone that contacts me regardless of order of request, age, gender, etc.

Recharging the battery. You can see the new prop and pull-pull rudder. Like yesterday, just as the battery was finished recharging the wind kicked up. I tried to fly anyways and had a 20 second wild ride before doing a nose plant and breaking the prop.

I tried a 5" prop that I think came with the motor. Regardless, it seemed to privide more thrust and I had less trouble flying upwind and was able to climb fairly high.

Got out to the field again this afternoon. I didn't time the flight but I think it was about 5-6 minutes.

The RC club president showed up with his gas plane and gave quite a show. After he was done I tried to fly again but the breeze was too strong and I couldn't fly upwind, even at full throttle.

I got about 5 minutes of flying on the 300 mAh pack. If I power the radio directly from the battery rather than the ESC I should be able to run a bit longer before the low voltage cutout kicks in.
SteveM, Image # 772412 Apr 08 18:49

Lowering the ESC low voltage cutout to 3.5 volts worked. I also learned that the radio will cut out the motor if battery voltage drops to 3.8 volts.

The One Nite 28 motor RPM was too low for flight. The ESC low voltage would kick in if I opened the throttle too wide. It looks like I'll just have to lower the low voltage protect, time my flights, and kill the motor before the radio dies.

Went flying today but the wind was too strong for the lighter models. Here is the SIG Cub getting tossed onto its side.
