simpleflyer, tail feathers sanded to shape from 1/4" balsa sheet. Jedi, sanding primer, balsa fill, a lot of sanding, and lots of patience. |

Poppy, I was reviewing this thread and missed the tail feather construction. Were they carved from thick sheet or built up from sheet and ribs? |

Sorry about that. Yes the props were carved and spinner was turned from balsa. I got lazy and used the plastic tanks from the P-51D, not exact scale, but close enough. I plan on carving the old style paper tanks later but I gotta take a rest from models and get my kitchen remodelled. |
