one of my early favorite airplanes is the Taube - it was a 'wing-warper' that carried forward from the Wright Brothers' design. adapted to a monoplane. These were observation and reconnaissance planes from the first year of the War when opposition pilots just waved to each other as they passed over the Front lines.. |

heywooood, I like the image of a flying musical instrument!
Ray!, I'm not married (anymore) but my cat got a bit upset that she couldn't play with the wire! :) |

That really is a unique build. That's a lot of rigging. Well done! |

Overall, I’m very pleased with this build. Learned a lot, and it was challenging in ways I didn’t expect. Lots of problem solving! Now, what to build next! I think I’m going to go with my original plan and build a 1/16 scale Hannover CIII. However, I just got a vintage Guillows BF109 (kit 401) still in its original shrink wrap that is calling my name! Also, just downloaded a plan for a DH Mosquito from Outerzone that looks like a fun build! Oh so many options! |

Exhaust side. Weather techniques on the exhaust is Vallejo ModelAir Rust paint applied with a stripling sponge over Testers Steel enamel. Dark brown wash was put on the pipes and allowed to pool at the bottom, creating the dark area around the end of the exhaust. Staining on the cowl is ground black and brown pastel. |

Finish the Rumpler Taube this weekend. I’ll tell you, I’ve done less rigging on 18th Century ship models than this airplane! All the rigging is done with 28 gauge jeweler’s wire. Probably a bit too think for scale, but it’s very visible and accents all the work. |
