Thank you for the lead - I'm now wondering if they had sent a 4.8 volt motor hence the burning out.... think would that do it? |

To check which gear box you have, turn the prop and count how many times the motor shaft turns for one revolution of the prop. You may need to remove the motor to see the gears better.
If you find they messed up your order and you want a new supplier, check out BP Hobbies. They have similar prices for the GWS motors and shipping starting at $3.25 for "small orders". |

THats the motor I thought I picked up - now I'm second guessing it. I have it listed as GWS LPS-B2C-CS (6.2:1, 7.2 V, 11.81 g) on my build spreadsheet but I relied on Aeromicro to hand me the right one - maybe they made a mistake?
The Fairchild is absolutely my next model - your video clinched it for me. BTW your tri-plane is unbelievable! |

It's up to you, on the tx. I think I wasted money on my first transmitter, because within a year, I wanted to upgrade. It is a lot of money though. I use my old transmitter as a trainer for friends now (you can link two together so that you can immediately take over if a friend gets in to trouble when learning!).I don't think it would be right to send my plans to you, that's probably not strictly legal. However, Guillows sell the kit on their website, and it's also available cheaply on eBay. |

wow thx but since iam a newb at rc airplanes do u think it would be a good idea tu buy a 250 dlls trans?
i mean, it looks it has too many gadgets i wont be able to learn to fly w that one ,am i? |
jgood, Comment for image # 934 | 18 Jul 07 07:27 |
I have one of these which I'd really recommend since it will take you a long time to grow out of it. It has memory for lots of models, and all the mixing and programming you can think of. You could start with something like this, but once you have a few models it'll be a real pain to keep changing the settings on it. |

thx wt kin of trasmiter would u recomend me? |
jgood, Comment for image # 934 | 17 Jul 07 21:46 |
I would guess at $80 in the aircraft (2 servos @ $15 each, $10 motor, $10 ESC, $15 receiver, $15 battery), and $150 in the transmitter. |

HI Trotro. Guillow's kits can be electrified, but they are certainly fiddly to do so, and not always the best flyers. They are definitely a challenge! One of my first electric kits was a Molt Models Hellcat, and it might be a good introduction to electric flight. It flies beautifully too! I my Fairchild, I used a GWS LPS motor, and some Bluebird servos. I get most of my supplies from BP Hobbies. |
