Nope this was last years summer. takes a lot of practice though to fly this plane: about 1500 flights on the simulator, and i did my calculations by hand. checked them on the webfora, only to find out I was right from the beginning: the bird was underpowered. Exciting flight as a result! Should trust my own education and calculus.
So, James, where do you live these days? UK? |

Arg, I hate it when it disappears from view on landing... A horrible feeling to lose sight at that critical moment! That doesn't look like winter time in the NL though! |

This was my highest adrenealine shot ever in flying RC: SR-71 (always a favorite) and RC and powered by a rocket engine. Helas the ground was not completely flat, so when I took it in for landing it, the view was blocked so I had to land it blind. It dit not completely survive the landing. |

This looks cool, glad to see you're still flying rockets, Jan! Where are you in the world, now? |

Hi James, I flew this in the Netherlands, on a large field. Apogee was at 150 ft, the engine pod kicked out, and the plane flew back, while the pod landed on a parachute. On the second flight the ejection charge was to large, and the plane got severely damaged, but it still flew. Damage is beyond repair . |

Wow, this looks great flying! Where did you fly it? |

Before Flight, prepped and all. |

This is about 30 feet above the ground, here during boost and it made a safe and soft landing afterwards. |

Finally got it flying! |

In flying any model a sense of humor helps get it off the ground. Once, at least. |

Engine pops out and as a result plane looses a lot of weight and shifts the CG to CP. |

View of the business end, and a the upper body cover. This plane is a model of the cosmos mariner, from Lone Star Aerospace, a X-prize contender, and new shuttle concept. |
