Looks almost as if you could leap in and fly it! (If you had the skill, and guts!) Great build. |

they're the best in my book - not that there are a lot to choose from lol
I like some of the ParkFlyer products pilots too I guess |

Heywood. Most of my pilots are modified Williams brothers busts. |

Williams Bro's pilot bust. I used this product in the GeeBee, the Laird, and the Bulldog. |

this is a progress shot of the fillet being created. It took a LOT of putty and sanding needless to say.. |

I sheeted the underside of my wings with 1/32" thick birch ply - then as you see - I cut a center section in two pieces or halves, to support and complete the wing root fillet. Then once the seam was sanded I positioned the belly pan against the forward fuselage per plan. The pan had to be sanded down in order to fit flush up front as the center 1/32" sheeting had 'raised' it up. |

Thanks John - now that DD is taking it on I thought I would dig up a few more pics of the build I had stored elsewhere. I suddenly realized I had not put much in my hangar here..
That fillet was a bear - I need to see if I have any pics of the work I did there |

it is a great kit, as you have already noted the Dumas line up is very good. The laser cutting, as with all of their materials, is top flight.
quick note: on assembling the LG I deviated from the plan. I cut the wire just before the first bend leaving just enough to enter the top of the wheel fairings. Then I reinforced the fairings on the inside with 1/2" dia. x 1/16" thick balsa cut to 'half-round' shape and secured the wheels with an axle of wire passed through the center of those reinforcements..This precluded having to either get the bent wire to fit inside of the fairings or wrap around them visibly from the outside. The LG wire 'stems' were run through the balsa gear legs along 'channels' that I made using a round jeweler's file, prior to the halves being joined together, and then on through the top of the fairings through equal diameter holes I had pre-drilled there. This kept the gear aligned too as well as adding strength to the connection |
