Bill, I wasn't real happy with this finish. The bottom on the last coat bubbled up and looked like an asphalt driveway. I waited two days, sanded it all down and tried again. I am doing a Corsair and will use an airbrush on that one. This plane was my first attempt at sheeting the fuselage, doubling stringers and using the Ace Hardware Krylon. Two of three worked real well, the Krylon thing is still questionable. I made this for my neighbor's grandson whose Dad just got back from a Tour overseas. His Dad used to do these when he was a kid and was pretty happy about this. Nice people, I may do a flyer for them next time. |

Using 3/32" stringers instead of 1/16" ones will make it even tougher. This is the same type of construction used in the Diels kit of this plane. |

I just finished this kit, and wanted to see how your's turned out. Standing by, moist with anticipation...*G* |

Bill, I am still working this project, my wife has reminded me that this is going to a boy whose dad is in the Afghanistan area at the moment. I don't keep any of the builds, they all go somewhere. Of course he doesn't have anything that fills his driveway, but it will hang over his bed. I can't get over how strong this build is, for a box and former plane it is pretty tough. |

How did this project turn out? |

This is a very large box and former fuselage with very fragile Dumas Stringers. I changed these out for some Guillow's stringers and stopped replacing broken stringers every single time I picked it up. the laser pieces make everything fit very nicely |
