Thanks, Jim. I think it's fairly safe to say it isn't the ugliest duckling in the VA pond. :-)

I never thought the Pilatus was an attractive plane, but it sure does its job well. I flew in one over the Grand Canyon. They are great for short runways, can carry several people, have lots of windows for the site-seers. Unless you are sitting in the very back, with no air circulation on a hot day. Air-sickness here I come! It wasn't fun crawling back to the hotel from the Grand Canyon Airport. But you have yet another beautiful model David.

No, sorry. These were cast by Al, Julnick, from the wheels in a 1/32 scale plastic Hellcat. They were originally done by Ted Richards for my B-29 Night Prowler. Al made me several sets, enough for a couple of years, and there are also some a bit larger. I have all the originals, just in case. :)

Nice pair DD. Did you ever say where you got the spiffy wheels?
David Duckett, Image # 3412226 May 15 18:50

The Porter is a large plane! THese are both designed by Howard, Kittyfritters, and are both great kits.

The Pilatus came in for maintenance today and got new wheels!

I find a well-lit, colorful environment to be highly nutritious to the creative spirit. If you live in a cave you're likely to make cave art all covered with soot from the whale oil lamps.

The master's workshop, very colorful.

thanks dd!

Brian: I always use Titanium white and cadmium red medium for base red and white. Those are colors in artists acrylic. You can find a color chart of liquitex colors on the web and compare them to what you're using. Titanium white is pure white and the red is similar to Insignia Red.

hjlittman, yeah your right. But the Beaver does have optional floats you can build (free plans come with the Beaver)and she is such a beautiful bush craft. I have one waiting to be built...but this one is different and like you said not sure why it hasn't been converted more. Now I really want to get one done. What about yourself...you going to electrify this baby?
hjlittman, Comment for image # 2933004 Sep 13 16:57
I'm very surprised that more conversions of it aren't done. It has very good proportions, but for some reason, more people seem to want to convert the Beaver.

Thanks. It's a great kit and there's plenty of room inside for gear.

Which is why my canvas doesn't even try!

Nice shot! I need to get me one of those and put some micro gear in that baby.
