The fishing up there is decent, I need to spend a month up there. I used to hike through the mountains and catch Brook Trout. They are everywhere and anywhere with water. I never fished Tahoe, but sometime soon. One winter I stayed at my sons and a Black Bear broke the door down. He has two Akitas who kicked his butt. |

My son is a ski instructor in the winter up there. We just went two weeks ago for a visit. During the summer he charters his sailboat in Saucalito "Free Heelin" check that out on his website. We had a great time in the bay for a couple days of sailing. |

Finished work. I missed the window detail, the front door window extends down to the lower longeron, next time. |

This has a span of 17.5 inches and it is small. It took one day to build all the frames, one day to cover and I am still putzing with colors. It is a homely plane. |

Fuselage completed. Needs some struts for the windshield and a radial nine cylinder. I doubled the longerons at the fuselage base and used 1/16 X 1/8 instead of the nice soft Dumas balsa. This is a hanger, not a flyer so beefed it up a tad to help with the tissue. |

The fuselage build is in two sections. I added tabs for alignment |

Dumas, laser-cut peanut scale, plans are good but the detail sheet provides the needed guidance. The fuselage is square going to a triangle shape towards the rear. |

This is what I am going for on this build, a ski-plane. The FC-2 was sort of the 1965 Dodge pickup of it's time, kind of a homely plane with intrinsic beauty. |
