Glad you did it. My kids sent me up in a Stearman a few years ago. You're right. Awesome!

I found a plan at Uncle Willies Plans... Anyone ever purchase from this site? Is it trustworthy?

Anyone know if there is a kit or even just plans available for this particular plane? I found other Waco's but this one. |

Awesome is an understandment. I've flown both the Texan and the Stearman and it's the 2nd best thing to you know what!!! |

It was from Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, NC.
Along with a lot of great views of the ocean and the sound, I got to see Kitty Hawk, a banner towing plane do an in flight hook-up and Andy Griffith's house. |

I had a small bit of good luck and was able to afford a short flight in this Waco. First time in anything other than a commercial airliner... was awesome!!! |

Keep saying aloud to the sky "oh dear, I'm happy to spend time and money on this Guillow's at home rather than being in a tavern". Then financial advisor will get message. I had passed that milestone! ! ! |

Could someone tell me what the covering material is that came with my Spitfire? I seems more like a fabric than paper. Is that called Silkspan? |

Thanks pakasit... for now all my builds are for rubber power... for now. I do see myself on the path to RC though... and it's not that far off I think :0) that may be up to my wif... um, I mean financial adviser ;O)
Going to check out Sullivan products now... |

The real Spitfire doesn't retract tailwheel. It depends if you wanna fly it rubber powered or electric R/C. For the rubber powered, leave it as is, as you need to save weight to minimum. But for R/C you can install moveable/steerable small light tail wheel onto it. The small wheel should be available in good hobby supplier shop. Try 1/2" Sullivan's cat. no 350. It comes in small plastic bag with simple instruction how to install it steerable. It moves syncro with rudder movement. If you need more info please let me know, I would be glad to help. |
