This kit is just wonderful to build this way or for flight. I built one for my nephew years ago as a rubberband flier and it was a good one. Then doing this infill, it just went together easy. No difficult tricks or intricate methods needed at all.
Great kit from Guillow - so is the Beaver. Clean and simple.
Thank you for the positive comment, Huey - much appreciated |

Excelent job, it one of my favorite planes. Got 100 hrs in an A model, love it. Very nice job! |

on these three models, the C170 is all paint, the Beaver has white and red paint on it but the black accent is cut from a sheet of solid black decal from 'ScaleMasters' I think...and the Piper is painted the base white but all the colors and the anti glare nose black are all decals cut from sheets of solid color..and I thank you for the positive encouragement! |

Love the models. Really clean build and really sharp paint jobs.

I might build another one of these on floats..I have a spare set of the Guillow floats in this scale. Maybe in an Alaskan paint scheme |

I'm not very good at drawing the panel lines on - so I use solid color sheets of black or grey or silver trim film (depending on the aircraft color) cut in very thin strips using a ruler and exacto. You can vary the width depending on what your are delineating.. ultra thin for access panels and broader strips for aileron and elevator / rudder lines. After they are sealed with the clear coat final overall they do not lift or leave the airplane |

wing is assembles and the bottom of the foil is already infilled. I always infill the bottom first because it keeps the wing flat. If you did the upper side first that wing is going to twist and contort all over the place. Bottom First |

I usually use thin strips of painted masking tape around the edges of this style of windscreen. It gives the white glue and water mixture I use something to hold on to and is tacky enough to help with the placement and positioning process too |

this windscreen style is much easier to make and apply |

fuse is painted..prior to touchup..I just used the kit supplied decals as templates for the tape masks - turned out ok |
