hjlittman, Comment for image # 4399 | 09 Sep 07 23:44 | Thanks, James. The prop that comes with the Gizmo Geezer front end is a Peck. Nice looking but not efficient enough for a somewhat overweight model. It would have worked if I had made serious attempts to lighten it. I should have gone with my first thought and changed it to an Ikara prop. The Czechs make really good rubber props. I'll finish it later, put on the the trim details and paint on the cowl, and change the prop. It will probably end up a 45 to 60 second flye, not contest material but a good, reliable sport model. |

hjlittman, Image # 4399 | 09 Sep 07 18:36 | Cessna 170 by "Stuka" Dave Gee on it's nose behind mine was winner with 77 second flight with Gasparin CO2 engine. 300 series Storch was also by Dave. I had prop troubles and finished last. |
hjlittman, Image # 4398 | 09 Sep 07 18:32 | Close up shows Gizmo Geezer free-wheeling prop with adjustable hub. Formers scallopped between stringers where tissue does not need to be attached to insure smooth tissue, Wheel mounting is temporary. I just needed to get it flying Sunday morning. Fi |
hjlittman, Image # 4397 | 09 Sep 07 18:28 | Tissue on. Stab and rudder pinned down while shrinking to eliminate warps, Wing tissue shrunk with a 1/16 inch wedge under trailing edge of tip rib to build in washout. |

hjlittman, Image # 4395 | 09 Sep 07 18:19 | Wing reinforcements are lengths of bamboo barbeque skewers. Wings are lightened, rib holes done with paper punch, trailing edges cut down on inside edges. |
