I had to repair some damage to one of the wheels and some damaged covering on the bottom, but the plane is back in flying condition now. |

Thanks and Congratulations. Is it intact after the flight?
I hope it is. |

The great proportions of the plane and the beautiful curves of the empennage really make this plane. The red is tissue. I covered the plane in silkspan and applied 2 coats of dope to seal it. With the red tissue - which is the kit decals scanned and printed onto domestic tissue glued to a sheet of printer paper - I just layed it into position and the painted over them with dope thinner. So far, no curling or pulling off. The white is Design Masters floral spray and some very careful masking. I've flown the plane since I've posted - I've gotten about 15 seconds with about 400 winds on the motor. I'm worried that I'll break the motor if I put too many turns on it. |

Here's the completed model - balanced and ready for a calm day and potentially - its demise. |

Peck Polymers prop with the Guillows thrust bearing in the nose. The model nearly balanced out without any noseweight. I'll need maybe 4 or 5 number 6 lead shot to get it level. I can't wait to fly this thing. |

I still need to do some detail work - like painting the wingtips. |

You can see where I cut away tissue to pull the motor through - only to find that there was a solid former in front of the cut out. Oh well. |

No decals here - all tissue cut outs. Talk about tedious - but satisfying |

This is one of my favorite kits, and planes. |

David, Funny you should metion that - I used your build as a reference. I could not determine if the red trim stopped on the side or continued to wrap around the rear of the fuselage. I checked a rear / top view of your build to find out. |

I built this kit in September of 2006 and a photo of it is now used by Guillows to illustrate the plane in the parts section of their website. |
