I finished repairs and did 4 test flights tonight. Plane seems to be handling normally. I am using 5 loops of 1/16 inch which seems to be the right amount of power for a smooth (nice looking) flight. Should be ready to return to full activity. |

Now that's funny, Don! Sorry Riley, I think we have the same pilot. You should see my Pitts. A friend, after seeing mine, said "I see why they call it that." I guess someone saw yours coming and yelled "Hit the deck", so you did. |

Your ground crew does impressive repair work. Pilot may need an optometrist? |

My 5th major repair. I hit a upper level back yard deck and took a wing completely off (Pilot OK). Plane was actually flying well before the accident. I'm still experiemnting with the best amount of power. I was doing 400 winds last night. |

Had 3 good flights tonight, each about 300 winds. I might try a stronger motor next. |

I added a trim tab to reduce the effects of torque. Since then I've had some really nice flights with 275-300 winds. It is capable of flying straight and level if the air is calm. The tab really helped. |

Congratulations on your successful flights. Takes courage to fly something that beautiful. |

Best Flight: Started with a level toss and then transitioned into a shallow climb and then rotated left due to torque, which lead to a very modest stall and recovery and then more level fast flight until the power ran out, followed by a safe glide. Had 275-300 winds on the motor. |

Current condition, after having it's best flight so far. |

Always put your best foot forward.. :0) After spending hours and hours creating a beautiful model, takes a lot of courage to fly it. Glad the damage is repairable. Have an EAA technical rep inspect before next flight. :0) |

I feel your pain. I set my Stearman on the floor while working at the table (I know, I'm an idiot), forgot it was there, and then stepped on it! I hit the air intake pushing it back into the fuselage and cracking the finish surrounding it. Fixable, as is yours, but disheartening all the same. |

I damaged a socket while installing the landing gear, which should still be detachable. |
