Poppy, that was not a conversion, that was a complete rebuild. And an unbelievably beautiful job that you did too. |

A great looking model, as are all your models. Brian, check out my 109 conversion build thread of the Guillows 400 kit. |

I should have mentioned that the fuselage is balsa block inserts (ala DD) and wings are covered with 1/32 balsa sheet. |

Upon arrival in Russia at 9./JG 3 the brown was over painted with Gray and Green and the yellow theater markings were added. I also learned to print decals for the first time. |

When choosing a build I often do it on the basis of colors and markings. The unusual brown in this F-4's camouflage of 9./JG3 attracted me. The machines were originally were scheduled to be delivered to Africa, hence the brown upper surfaces. |

Brian, converting the Guillows 109 to G is a horrendous job, I wish you luck, because the Guillows 109 is poor rep of a 109 - any variant. I would suggest building the Dumas G, it is an excellent kit. |

very nice jerry! i was thinking about converting the guillows 400 into a g model, i haven't really looked into it yet, do you think it's possible? |

This conversion to an F-4 is a simple one, the addition of a lower side window below the windscreen and the lack of four small airscoops, two on each side of the nose behind the spinner. Most of the other differences to the G are internal. |

Finished While this is actually a "conversion" rather than a "scratch built", although be-it a minor conversion from the Dumas 109G back dated to a 109F-4. Since my days building plastic modeling I've loved converting kits to different marks in order to build somethig a little unusual or at least a little different. |
