Lindy, how did you do the metal to look corrugated? I'm trying to do it on my DHC-2 Beaver. |

Oh yeah, so true Don C. It would be nice to know who built it, but like David Duckett says, its probably older than 60 years and the builder is probably passed :( |

Good save, Lindy. I know how you feel about saving it. |

I never heard of Lindy kits, but the box and former is still pretty common. There's a lot of work involved.

Sixty years ago I was building Berkeley kits with Testors wood cement or Duco which was nearly the same. I think this kit is earlier than that. |

It is also very interesting for me to see how far modeling techniques have advanced over the years. To me, this would have been a nightmare to build, especially without the use of CA glue. |

I am so glad to have rescued it from the burn pile. It was even more special to me since I happen to have an original flight manual to match. I shall leave it as is and currently have it hanging from the ceiling in our restaurant. Should be in the LHS but I want it closer to home:) |

I agree with your leaving it as is. Many folks find the bare bones just as attractive as a completed model. Several years ago I put a BB model of an Inland Sport built from a Flyline kit in the LHS and someone stole it when the shop went out of business. |

They dont make em like this anymore. Very difficult construction. But so cool. Hope everyone would find it as interesting as I do. |

This is an old original pilots manual I found at a flea market 25 years ago. I think they launched these off battleships |

This is the way I got it. Someone took allot of time to get it this far. I thought about finishing it, but decided to leave it the way it is. Probably 60 years old ? So cool. |

It is a Curtiss SO3. |

I have to fly it. Balsa dust comes right off. |

Looks like the best place to work! How do you keep the balsa dust off the polished Luscombe!? :) |
