We are back in the Bay Area. Split our time between the GV home and the Bay for about 10 years. Wanted to be closer to hospitals because of some health issues. My very good friend who has a heart problem ends up in Sacto after ever episode. He has gone to the GV hospital seven times and they throw some oxygen on him and cart him off to Sacto. Loved the area and wish I was still there. we were off You Bet Road. |

I scaled-up from the three view illustration shown in the last image. When a lad I was in the Air Cadets - 97 squadron RAF - the flew Heyfords in the 30's. |

Very impressive. I read where this plane could do loops. Interested in finding the reference material you used in building this beauty. We used to live in Grass Valley and I think you are in that area. Thanks |

That's a beauty! Did you carve those props too? I'd like to see more views of this one. Really nice work. |

Where are all our current model making people? Is the current weather halting production, or is it the January blues! |

Thank you John! It is not a perfect job but I think that it is a fair representation of the Heyford. As an Air Cadet (age 14) the RAF squadron we were affiliated to was #97 - They flew Heyfords for a while in the late 1930's, I've always had a "soft spot" for this aircraft. |

Thanks Guys! John - I am going to use Black Polyester thread, I've done some already and it looks pretty much to scale. I simply pull it through 1/32" holes in struts and put a tiny drop of CA to fix it. The scale of this model makes it difficult to fabricate wire attachment fittings.

Not before you mentioned it, i find myself taking bits of copper wire from work. Often used for handles, belt knukles (unsure about the spelling there)and small details. I like the easy bending of the copper. |

Did anyone spot the 16swg x 1.25" dia copper pipe I used for the gun-mounting rings! There is always a use for those off-cuts and bits of scrap from "house" jobs! (I always keep some aside!) |
