My wife and I watched your new build on YouTube last night on our TV. When you showed how you trim the cowl her reaction was why haven't you been doing that. Thanks for the info. |

Hey Dave - glad you liked them!
My hope is that they can be entertaining if not informative.
I am no expert, everyone has their own way of doing things. I only want to present my methods as an option or means to an end. Sharing the passion more than disseminating the information or techniques that I have learned..
Most of what I know about this stuff I learned from you and the other terrific model makers here. |

I thought it was clever that they used the plan sheet to make the box top also..very practical.
and thank you !

Great job! Sunlight really makes it stand out. And as far as not using the instructions - Look at the box. :) Beautiful model. |

I’m glad the new resource had the information you were looking for, Ken.
If there is anything you need an answer to that I might have missed or only partially covered wrt this build, either here or on the youtube channel, please let me know. And Thank You for checking out ‘Heywood Planes’ on youtube! |

Thanks, David - it was a challenge compared to the other, more established or more current kits I’m used to. I somewhat liked having only a plan sheet and no ‘step by step’ instructions. I tend to use those only for reference anymore anyway. |

Great work! Flyline kits are not for the timid. You have really brought this one to life. |

I then only had to reduce the length of the cylinder push rods by the same 1/8" - just cutting off one end (the end attached to the crankcase) did the trick |

one item I did not describe or show on the channel : I did not use the cylinder pedestals from the kit. Instead - I hogged out the holes in the crankcase where the cylinder pedestals were to be mounted and inserted the cylinders into the crankcase directly - to a depth of 1/8"..this to reduce the scale diameter of the P&W engine to that of the Lycoming |

Was about to ask about the motor but decided to go to your youtube channel and sure enough the answer was there. Looking good. |
