I am trying for a weathered look. I am applying several shades, in thin coats, generally trying to streak the colors in the direction of the airflow. I used colored pencils and chalk, also, to simulate dirt.

Painting in progress. This Stuka is going to be the Libya 1941 version with the snake emblem. I left out the green paint, where the snake will be, so that it doesn't show through.

Balsa of the kit was hard and cleanly die cut. This was perfect for what I wanted. The pieces mostly popped out and they made perfect templates for cutting out copies in contest balsa.

Note the large amount of rudder offset, mostly to counter the port wing's drag flap. There is also a fair amount of right and down thrust, working against the torque.

Not a Guillows Hurricane, but a scratch built one, about the same size. It is a little battered after years of flying and repairs. The port wing has a drag flap to keep it from spiralling to the left.
