The model cleaning at my cabin is finished. Unfortunately after only two days in flight the monofilament supporting the “Spirit” decide to break after ten years. The fall to earth was catastrophic. Slim did not make France this flight. I am sad as this was one of my favorite models. Ho-humm poop happens!

I was able to use both plastic intake covers. They installed fairly easily, to my surprise, but they are so thin they lost the mold shape when cut out which actually helped their ease in installing. At this point, I feel I own it:-)

THere's a dimple in one of the plastic intake covers so I planned to use 1/32" wood.

The first overall coat of filler will be sanded smooth today, providing it doesn't rain all day like yesterday.

So I'm making them out of scrap wood to fill the hole first.

This area, bothy top and bottom, are supposed to be covered with a molded plastic part. The molding of the plastic parts is fairly good but they all, except the red nose, are molded in clear plastic. Clear parts make no sense to me.

Needs many more coats. This was the early model. They dropped the fin rather quickly. It's been done, but no picture.
