Dumas Curtiss SBC-3 Helldiver. The finished weight is 107.8g. This is a little heavy for a 30" model, but there is a lot of wing area.

I build the SBC-3 with the gear up because this is going to be an outdoor flyer and also because it is pretty complicated to make a good representation of gear down. The wheel is a balsa disc sanded into a donut shape.

All of the wings are removable. There is a paper tube in every wing component through which a balsa spar goes. This is done mostly for storage reasons, but will also limit damage in a bad crash.

The crew, Ensigns Thomson and Thompson are carved from foam and covered with tissue. They turned out a little more portly than I intended.

I build in a down aileron on the port wing to avoid adding a paper tab. This is to keep the plane from banking too much from prop torque,

I replaced many of the wing ribs with contest balsa. This is going to be a free flight model.

The Fokker is stable, indoors, yet is quite responsive to the controls. It has loads of power.

The Triplane has a 4 channel system of the Eflite 4-site and comes in at 35g AUW. I was carefull in making the tail light, so that it did not need extra nose weight.
