There is another NoCal on the horizon, a Giant Scale Bristol Beaufighter. The one in the picture is the first prototype. It was built with 1/16 stock like my smaller one. It would fly but warped with a warm breath. I built the next one with 3/32" stock. (Video) It's not that much heavier but much easier to handle and transport. The short flight in the video was so that Dave Gee could get a video of it. It's flying on a few hundred turns on single loops of 3/32" rubber. More winds would put it up at the ceiling. On 1/8" rubber, outdoors, it's a different animal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVY3ZEZ8gCc

3D modeled and printed the spinners and propellers. These are just press fitted at this point and still have some fitting to do, but the results look good. Spinners were done with my FDM printer using Polysmooth filament. The propellers were done with my SLA printer.

Taking a break for the holidays so thought I’d post the current state of the Bugatti. 3D printed exhaust fairing and cooling air outlets that are on the trailing edge of the wings. Glued and filled with spackling, then coated entire model with five coats of thinned EZ-DOPE. Finally, two coats of sanding primer. Next will be sanding the primer and filling anything that needs it.

wondering if staining the propellers would look better than painting or leaving it normal? what do you guys think?
