Looking to me like you placed the tape on the INSIDE of the canopy....I always put mine on the outside.

i put it on the outside its just hard to notice. i think what i might do is take solite covering an cut out tiny strips and put them on it with a covering iron...

Consider a technique from the Master...David Duckett....purchase some liquid masking. Paint it on, after drying, lightly score with a hobby knife and peel off those areas that you want to paint. Also there is available a very narrow trim tape that will work well. I've used both methods with success. (Will the covering iron melt/soften the plastic??)

it wasn't my idea to do the solite covering thing. it was James Good's idea. he seems to know what he is doing as well as you and david duckett. i think i am going to stay with the solite idea because frankly i am done with buying more stuff that i don't really need. thanks for the advice. i might do that on another plane i build.

I've found that simple masking tape painted and cut into the proper width is a very effective way to do this and in many cases the easiest way to achieve a clean look. The lines on the canopy of my Dornier 335 are all masking tape.
