can you tell me what kind of electronic did you use to make it rc reciver, servos, batery, motor?? brands or somteg cus i want to make my corsair electric rc...but dont know what to buy
jgood17-Jul-07 07:41
HI Trotro. Guillow's kits can be electrified, but they are certainly fiddly to do so, and not always the best flyers. They are definitely a challenge! One of my first electric kits was a Molt Models Hellcat, and it might be a good introduction to electric flight. It flies beautifully too! I my Fairchild, I used a GWS LPS motor, and some Bluebird servos. I get most of my supplies from BP Hobbies.

hi thx for the answer...i will buy the same model u get fairchild and try to instal elecrics on that one firs then ill try my guillows corsair..gigant version i will send my pic so u can se my progres i will buy it next week.. how much money did u invest in the fairchild , motor servos reciver transmiter etc...
jgood17-Jul-07 21:46
I would guess at $80 in the aircraft (2 servos @ $15 each, $10 motor, $10 ESC, $15 receiver, $15 battery), and $150 in the transmitter.

thx wt kin of trasmiter would u recomend me?
jgood18-Jul-07 07:27
I have one of these which I'd really recommend since it will take you a long time to grow out of it. It has memory for lots of models, and all the mixing and programming you can think of. You could start with something like this, but once you have a few models it'll be a real pain to keep changing the settings on it.

wow thx but since iam a newb at rc airplanes do u think it would be a good idea tu buy a 250 dlls trans? i mean, it looks it has too many gadgets i wont be able to learn to fly w that one ,am i?

hey do you still have the plans for the fairchild? i cant find the kit at my local hobbystore and i was thinking in makin it from scratch but i need the plans,
jgood18-Jul-07 19:09
It's up to you, on the tx. I think I wasted money on my first transmitter, because within a year, I wanted to upgrade. It is a lot of money though. I use my old transmitter as a trainer for friends now (you can link two together so that you can immediately take over if a friend gets in to trouble when learning!).I don't think it would be right to send my plans to you, that's probably not strictly legal. However, Guillows sell the kit on their website, and it's also available cheaply on eBay.

yea its not right to send the plans i already locate a store that have the kit, mc allen... its kind f far but ill go, thx a lot.....

LiPo all the way. NiCd's, NiMH's and slime are for babies. :)
