scigs30 | 13-Feb-08 12:40 | I am using Domestic dark and light blue. The fuselage is comming along, have to finish the fuselage and shrink the tissue. The tissue is applied with 50/50 Elmers and water, then when all done I will shrink with water. |
jgood | 13-Feb-08 14:59 | This domestic tissue is basically what they use to wrap up gifts, right? This looks great! |
scigs30 | 13-Feb-08 15:08 | I think so, I buy my tissue from Easybuilt models. |

poppy | 07-Mar-08 11:07 | it's great how you guys do the tissue overlays w/ no paint. Nice job! |
scigs30 | 07-Mar-08 11:17 | When I was a kid that is all had to cover with, Uncle wouldn't let me "waste the so called good tissue". When I finally started using Jap tissue I was amazed at the ease of application. But then I discovered how much Jap tissue shrinks and ended up with warped, bowed construction. I got over that by preshrinking my tissue. I painted a couple of my planes and soon discovered that paint was heavier than domestic so I went back to domestic. Secret to overlays is make sure your stringers are straight. Also invest in a bunch of surgical #11 blades. These blades are great for cutting tissue. I will use two of these blades for a build like this. |
