rhysleo | 05-Jun-09 08:57 | i have added more stringers to the fuse because it will be eaisier to cover that way. |
jgood | 05-Jun-09 09:34 | Looks great, Rhys. Seems like you have become an aircraft engineer pretty quickly! Where are the extra stringers? The slow-stick looks good too. Ready to fly? I put a new brushless motor in my Tyro yesterday, will upload pics soon. |
rhysleo | 05-Jun-09 11:02 | thank you! if you look at the old picture of the fuse the bottom half of it has no stringers. i have started covering the fuse in sections and i have completed the first section. the very back will be a pain to cover, but its possible! the slow stick is not even close to finished. :-). my dad and i still have to attach the servos, speed controller, the works! when its finished, i would like to fly it at bicentenial, because i think the field i fly at is cursed! good news about the tyro. have you been able to fly it yet since the motor came off? |
rhysleo | 05-Jun-09 11:05 | by the way, i think what i might do is not add any color to the hellcat, fly it a bunch of times, and then spray paint it blue and add the decals and keep it as a decoration. |
jgood | 05-Jun-09 14:48 | Sounds like a good plan. I'm not sure how well this kit flies unless you change out the wood with lighter balsa. All the pro's seem to change the wood to get them to fly well. But if nothing else, it will make a nice display model, and you will have learned some good building skills. |
