Nice Mustang. What are the antiglare panel and black frames on the canopy, the white lettering and insignia? Is the tissue Guillows or domestic?

The antiglare and canopy frame is black tissue from a craft store. The grey tissue is what was supplied in the box and all the decals, waterslide from the kit. Clear acrylic was sprayed on prior to decal application. All the wood is kit wood. The canopy is homemade. The original canopy frames were to prominent for my tastes. I made a plaster cast of the original and trimmed off the raised frames from the plaster plug and then plunge molded the canopy. Thanks for the compliment, I see you've got a sharp looking 'stang here, also.

Thanks, are you Paul from the Guillows group at Yahoo? Your Mustang looks pretty light, are you planning to fly it? Let us know how it does. We noticed the same thing re the prominent canopy frames. For us it made papering the frames easier. Your covering job looks nice and taut; what did you use for adhesive and painting prior to spraying the clear acrylic.

That's me. I need to post this photo in my Guillow yahoo album. Definitely planning on flying, can't recall it's weight right now. Adhesive for the tissue is 100% elmer's glue, a thin bead smeared on the outside edge of the frames. Applied the tissue dry. Then misted with water.I know that's heavy and somewhat crude. For some reason I just decided to try it that way. No painting. The tissue came gray, and the clear acrylic was sprayed directly onto the tissue. This model was fun. I built it mostly in a motel room, to keep me from watching too much TV.

Built this in a motel room in lieu of TV. Great choice and I am sure it was more fun and rewarding;o)
