LASTWOODSMAN | 12-May-17 20:52 | 5 MORE hours of slow, careful, meticulous filing and sanding and examination. The outer blade faces are sanded to an air foil shape form, with sharp leading and trailing edges. The blades have a slight "twist" in them from root to tip. |
LASTWOODSMAN | 12-May-17 20:56 | The scallops of the lower blade faces, coming out of the prop hub, need to be deepened, and their leading edges will be rounded and smoothed in last. The fat, thick blades still need to be thinned out to final air foil thickness, and the blade tips will be finished last. |
biplane guy | 13-May-17 08:11 | You do know you can buy those for $4.00 with a hole already drilled, right? Just yankin' your chain, LW. That's really nice work. |
LASTWOODSMAN | 13-May-17 09:53 | Thanks BP - I am just one of those very slow builders - I spend more time just looking at it and pondering, than actual sanding ... |
