hjlittman | 29-Mar-08 20:19 | Should have no problems with acrylic paint using this technique since acrylics are compatable over both nitrate and butyrate dopes. However, filling grain and sealing with talc in dope is really for flying models that have to be kept light.
When I have built statics I used a thinned coat of dope to set up the fuzz for sanding followed by sprayed on coat of automotive, lacquer based, filling primer would give great results. It used to come in white, gray and red. You will have to check with an auto paint store to see if this product is still available.
