Me thinks I must build a plane with an exposed radial...like the Stearman. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

How about a Ford Trimotor? Three times the exposed radial fun there!

Never thought of that. THREE times the "Fun" of engine building.I have plans for a martin BM-2 dive bomber, circa 1935. LG similar to the Spirit, exposed engine, and a rear gunner....maybe???

real sharp looking aicraft that will afford you a lot of detail work would be a Gloster Gamecock. A pair of lower wing mounted Vickers MGs, wind driven generator, long under fuse exhaust pipes and of course strutted indercarriage with spoke wheels. Should provide you with lots of "fun".

James...I think you have the winner. I found plans to build a Ford Tri-motor with a 56 inch span. This is running #1...thanks for the idea!!
