elevatoranj | 03-Aug-07 18:55 | I should have painted the bottom first, guess I had to learn the hard way. |
novice builder | 03-Aug-07 19:32 | If he had asked his GIRLFRIEND about the order of painting this plane, he would have done it right the first time..but as someone has commented on my plane. . . .
SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LEARN THE HARD WAY!!!! - lol

mattolson | 04-Aug-07 08:57 | I like the black and light underside scheme. I saw some examples of that on the web when researching color schemes for my spit. |
hjlittman | 04-Aug-07 23:05 | It was called Night and White and was adopted during the Battle of Britian when it was discovered that both anti-aircraft gunners and fighter pilots were somewhat lacking in aircraft identification skills. Now you would think that the Spitfire would be not be a subject of any confused identification, but they had the Heinkel 112 in their silouette books. There were several claims of Heinkel 112 kills during the Battle of Britian that may have been Spitfires shot down in friendly fire incidents. |
