Finished!

How funny, I started my 500 series Hurricane last night. If I get anywhere close to covering this flawless, I'll be lucky! Where do you get this tissue? I was going to use the supplied white, and paint with acrylic. But I like the translucent effect of plain tissue.

Very nicely done!

It goes to show that even the smaller kits with time and effort can yield a beautiful final product. Nicely done, Chris.

Beautiful job, great finish.

Thanks chaps :-) It took me nearly 7 weeks to complete, although it seemed an inordinate amount of that time was spent figuring out how to do the fairings and manufacture my own markings. James, the tissue I use is just plain old Esaki tissue, doped. I got mine from SAMS Models here in the UK.

A very nice piece of work. Keep it up.

How is your Hurricane going James? Have you decided on which finish you are going to use? Will you be flying it when it's completed?
jgood02-Aug-07 21:30
I haven't decided yet Chris. Probably Battle of Britain or like this one of yours, I really like the black. Unless you have any good suggestions... This one will be rubber powered, I'm not ready for another r/c one yet. :)

:( Did you hear this Hurricane (wearing a different paint scheme) went down at the Shoreham Airshow yesterday? Pilot killed, wreck completely burnt out.Very sad.Link to BBC news story.

Hey jgood, would you give me your e mail address again, I need to have an aircraft lising added.
cdwheatley16-Sep-07 13:40
Yes I did hear about that James. My wife told me about it first, and then it was in the paper this morning. A very sad incident all round :-(

CD, this is a very nice work, ¿how do you get the transparent colors?
cdwheatley25-Jan-08 17:32
Thanks. The translucent effect you see here is simply the result of using black Esaki tissue to cover the model with, then sealing with dope.
