Wow, this looks great. Has she flown yet? Rubber power, I take it?
cdwheatley04-Oct-06 13:16
Yes, rubber powered but not flown yet - I'd be too scared of damaging it! I'm going to keep this, my first ever completed balsa and tissue plane, as a display only one and try flying subsequent models instead.

Looks great. Why don't you try weathering it a bit?
cdwheatley09-Jan-07 13:08
Thanks, I like it as it is though. I also wouldn't want to ruin it by mucking up any attempted weathering!

I wouldn't change a thing.

the camo looks great! what type of paint do you use?
cdwheatley10-Jan-07 13:04
Thank you :-) I used Humbrol enamels - No.105 Marine Green & No.72 Khaki Drill for the upper surfaces and No.23 Duck Egg Blue for the lower. Brushed on, then a coat of Klear to seal it & give a satin finish.

CD, ¿How do you build the weapons?, they look great!!!
cdwheatley25-Jan-08 17:28
Thanks. They're made from a cocktail stick and black insulation/wire The bit that attaches to the wing is the insulation from a thickish bit of wire, over a length of cocktail stick which also forms the middle part. The last bit is just a piece of small gauge solid core wire stuck in the end of the cocktail stick, covered by a slightly longer length of insulation to achieve a 'hollow' look.
